Join us for our very first Pet Preparedness Workshop, a collaborative event between Talbot Department of Emergency Services and Talbot Humane Society, created to help our community stay ready — and keep pets safe — during the 2025 hurricane season.

🔹 What to Expect:
The day kicks off with a presentation from Talbot DES on this year’s hurricane outlook and key steps for preparing your family and pets for emergencies.
Following that, Talbot Humane will share how pet sheltering works during disasters in Talbot County, including what’s required to bring pets into our emergency shelter.

🔹 Q&A + Community Resources:
After the presentations, join us outside on the lawn for an adoption event featuring some of Talbot Humane’s adoptable animals! We’ll also have information tables from local groups where you can:

• Explore a mock “Pet Go Kit”

• Learn about the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)

• Discover how to get involved with local animal shelters and emergency operations

In honor of Pet Preparedness Month, we’re collecting pet supply donations for Talbot Humane — the organization that runs our emergency pet shelter when disaster strikes. Not every jurisdiction offers this vital service, and this is our way of saying thank you for their dedication!
